Watching cartoons on screen is just one of the things I love doing, for fun and leisure. It’s also my way of bonding with my little sibling. During my childhood years, wherein I was so focused and addicted to watching cartoons, I have already appreciated the crafty approach of Mickey Mouse’s every move.
Was it animation? I believe so. Today, animation has just got better that it looked more real. This was due to the enhanced, and maybe more advanced 3D technology. And some fellas from the University of British Columbia’s Human Communications Technology Lab have created a concept 3D cube, which they call the pCubee.
It’s a cube that can display images on all six sides of it with perspective-corrected rendering and motion-detection. Each display shows one perspective of an image, which can give you the illusion of looking into a 3-dimensional space. It can make you choose to see the front, side or even overhead view of an object and you can even interact with the images on the displays. PCubee is still a project in progress; that if it will be materialized, more people whose into movies and animation would surely love and support this.
